Celebrations and Observations of yourself grow your confidence. Just for a moment, sit with your eyes closed. Imagine a time-line in front of you and identify all the moments in your life that you appreciate the journey to this moment? Mark your experiences of intrigue, excitement, growth, fun, sadness, fear, anxiety, expansion, failures, successes, etc. What would be reflected back to you? What have you accepted along your journey that took time or patience? What do you appreciate about yourself? Which is the most rewarding or life transforming event? Observing with calmness, clarity and purpose, is an amazing tool offering you profound insight into your inner wisdom.
Take a moment and really a look at where you are now! You are a special person, a blessing to everyone; do you feel this inside? In doing this exercise for myself, I was able to really recognize my gifts, talents, abilities and see what situations were pure fun and others when I danced the “people pleasing “’ I have come to accept that at times, I will fall into old habits. When that occurs, compassion for myself is the gift I give myself, even when it feels hard to do that, it is a celebration in personal growth.
What are you willing to shift in your thinking, beliefs, attitude or perspective to truly embrace that beautiful soulful being that is you? Yes, you can change — just as extreme weight loss candidates choose to make tough decisions to face their fears, anxiety and frustrations — you too can receive support for the next chapter in your life. It is about accepting where you are, and letting go of judgment.
Change is a choice. At times, we are prepared, and other times, a circumstance feels like it has fallen out of the blue. Either way, observe how your body responds. When I experience a little twitch in my stomach area, I pay attention. It is our second chakra, the energy center for feeling safe. My experience is feeling nauseous, jittery, very nervous and edgy; all stemming from that lower body area in the front. It is saying “pay attention to me!!!” When I feel as if I am being yelled at…… I really pay attention!
Accepting, appreciating and acknowledging this inner sensation is a profound observation and a moment of celebration. It is a celebration because awareness has been raised, and a conscious connection to the feeling is happening.
The observation goes deeper:
What situation (or person) am I reacting to?
Is this a pattern I have trying to change?
What is causing me to feel unsure or not trust myself?
Did you know that simply bringing awareness to a situation changes the DNA inside us? Now that is cause for celebration!
Creating space and time for stillness and reflection is critical to experiencing the idea of “Observing yourself”. Identifying time to listen to your inner wisdom on a regular basis results in deep acceptance of self, appreciation for your unique perspective on life and allows you to achieve goals that are purposeful for your life
One way to take advantage of this process is when you have a head cold. Yes, I am offering the observation that the experience of being less that “well” can be a moment of celebration. As uncomfortable as the experience of a cold can be, feeling heavy, clogged, weighed down, unlovable, frustrated, or just feeling “yucky”…ultimately clearing occurs.
As your mind clears out the physical clutter — stuffed nose, watery eyes, sleepy body, rejuvenation returns when breathing is simple, easy and full. A strong sense of energy returns, focus attention on specific actions and desire to accomplish and achieve has been reawakened. This physical clearing allows for enhanced observations of yourself. Take advantage of these few days……. Before life’s routine returns and habits take over. Be the Observer of your life and Celebrate your Successes!
