Welcome to our one and only poetry column by Michele Wroblewski. Michele aims to show people that although painstaking to endure, challenges faced in life should be received in gratitude, for they produce the powerful product of a strong, independent, and self confident individual that is prepared to face the world. She starts with asking you this: Do you feel as though no matter how hard you may try, you can’t ever seem to just get what you want in life? By Michele Wroblewski
Hi all! Since this is my first post, I would like to start the discussion by providing you with a poem, written by me, as to how to begin your journey into self-acceptance.
Do you feel like a wall is stopping you from reaching your goals? Do you feel as though no matter how hard you may try, you can’t ever seem to just get what you want in life?
The problem is this: the word try. If you learn to let go and accept what life brings, you will knock this wall down. Allow vulnerability to enter your life. It may seem scary, frightening, or may make you want to give up and hide; don’t let it happen. Do not ever let fear stop you from opening yourself up to what the universe has to offer you.
You are destined for so much more; now is your time to trust and believe that anything is possible.
It may take time, and most likely, will not happen overnight. I promise though, when you least expect it, what you are looking for from life with just come to you, and because you have enabled yourself to be vulnerable and open to the universe, you will recognize to take it and run with it! Vulnerability should never ever be taken as weakness, for you have to be pretty brave to allow yourself to feel both pain and joy deeply.
Let faith in yourself guide you to the light.
You fall and then you stand
No one there to hold your hand
Pick up pieces as you please
Leave them there, the world will cease.
Stop and go.
Come and leave
Nothing left, let it be.
Lying there, upon the ground,
Words are jumbled, hearing sounds.
Sounds around,
Listen, ignore
Erupting now,
Starts to pour.
Opened up, to the core
You are left with nothing more.
Walls are down
Flood gates opened,
Confusion rises
All shapes and sizes.
Spinning, spinning,
In your head
Are all these thoughts
Left unsaid.
Tearing open,
Burst in many
All the ashes, you have plenty.
Marked upon,
Your body lies,
No more left in disguise.
Fear is certain,
As much you know.
This ancient journey
Many have traveled.
Time seems certain
Doubts are lurking.
The picture comes
Clear at once.
Truths revealed,
Continue on
And lead upon.
You see,
Your journey has finally begun.
This is lovely and so well-written. It give a wonderful visual for what if feels like to be vulnerable…and then makes it okay. Well done, Michele!
