Putting Your Health and Wellness Into Perspective

Putting Your Health and Wellness Into Perspective

Take a moment to think about what makes your days more enjoyable, fulfilled and worthwhile. What is your reason for getting up in the morning and starting your day?

I believe that health and wellness must be approached from a holistic perspective; it is my belief that in order to be whole, healthy and happy we need to address every area of our life from the inside out.

I also believe that not every alternative modality works for every person. We are comprised of different things, we come from various backgrounds and we desire unique lifestyles. Therefore, it is important that we take time out to do the necessary assessments to learn where we are starting from, so that we can work with the proper professionals that will help us reach our desired outcomes.

Health is when your body systems function as they are designed to. Wellness is having BALANCE in your life. You need to approach your health and wellness from a holistic approach. There is more than one way to achieve your health and wellness goals in all areas of your life from physical, mental, emotional, and spiritually. You just need a plan of action that is best suited for your lifestyle as well as for your personality and what I call–a wellness blueprint.

Each day you make many decisions that affect your happiness, wholeness, and wellness. For example, you may decide to wear a seatbelt, to drink water instead of soda, or go to sports practice. While each of these decisions may seem small, taken together, day after day and year after year, they have a big effect on your life. They influence your daily energy level and self-confidence, as well as your future health and wellness in general.

Being A Healthier YOU means living in Total Wellness from all aspects of your life, which include physical, mental, relational, emotional, social, spiritual, educational, environmental and financial health. Going from where you are to where you want to be, means taking the necessary steps you choose to take to move you into action that will lead you from stagnation to revelation and manifestation.

Here are some questions you can ask yourself.
What truly feeds and fuels your mind, body, soul, and energy  in your life?

Take a moment to think about what makes your days more enjoyable, fulfilled and worthwhile. What is your reason for getting up in the morning and starting your day? Is it your morning yoga class? Time spent with your spouse or playing with your children? Maybe it is the feeling of accomplishment you get at work for a job well done.

Sometimes we are fed not by food we eat but by the energy, we attract into our lives. Everything we consider as a source of nutrition – carbs or proteins, fresh produce or home-cooked meals – is really just a secondary source of nourishment. It’s the things off of our plate that are more of more significance — like healthy relationships, consistent exercise, a fulfilling career and a spiritual practice – which can fill our soul and satisfy our hunger for life, excitement and fulfillment. You are a total being that has many sides and all of them need to be attended to in oder to bring them into alignment.

Remember you are worth everything it takes to become a healthier you, because your life depends on it and so does the world. You already have everything you need to succeed in this life; it is now time to put these things into MASSIVE ACTION. If you do not know what to do or how to do there are plenty of resources to assist you. Get a Coach, Counselor or Consultant to help you map out the perfect plan for you to accomplish your wellness goals.

It is time for no more EXCUSES! Just do it!

Identity Magazine is all about empowering women to get all A’s in the game of life — Accept. Appreciate. Achieve.TM Every contributor and expert answer the Identity 5 questions in keeping with our theme. Their answers can be random and in the moment or they can be aligned with the above article. As a team, we hope to inspire and motivate ourselves and inspire you to get all A’s.

1. What have you accepted within your life, physically and/or mentally? What are you still working on accepting?

I have accepted the fact that I must continue to work on myself so that I am the best version of myself. I know that it is not easy when I have heard so many self -limiting thoughts over the years but, I know that with continuous belief in who I am and what I am purposed to do I can make it. I am working on accepting the fact that I continually struggle in areas that I thought I had mastered. What I know is that life is a process and it is ever evolving and so am I.

2. What have you learn to appreciate about yourself and/or within your life, physically and mentally? What are you still working on to appreciate?

I have learned to appreciate the fact that I am a very creative person and I am a lover of the expressive arts. I am working on appreciating me for the woman I have become of instead of dwelling on who I thought I was.

3. What is one of your most rewarding achievements in life? What makes YOU most proud? What goals and dreams do you still have?

2015 I was signed to Imani Faith Publishing as an author and I will be releasing my next book in 2016. I desire to be on television and radio sharing my message of authenticity, which simply means helping people “Be real Be true, Be authentic and Be you” in every area of their lives on purpose.

4. We all have imperfections, so we think. The truth–we are all perfectly imperfect. What are your not-so-perfect ways? What imperfections and quirks create who you are–your Identity?

I have a tendency to doubt my abilities at times thinking that I need more training, education, or certifications to do what I was assigned in this life to do. I suffer from perfectionism; I want things to be done so perfectly that things are not done. I suffer at times from paralysis of analysis.

5. “I Love My…” is an outlet for you to express and appreciate all the positive traits that make you…well… YOU! Sharing what you love about yourself will make you smile, feel empowered, and uplift your spirit and soul. (we assure you!) Identity challenges you to complete the phrase “I Love My…?”

Loving, supportive, giving and serving heart. I love seeing people reach their fullest potential and divine destiny.
