Disclaimer
Now, before we get into it, my husband and I have had a debate on whether I’m talking about an actual tea or not. He says that in order to call it a tea, there needs to be elements of tea leaves. I said, “Well if you paid attention to the marketing terms and how we can create our own ‘tea names,’,you’d know I can call this a detox tea.”
I may be right or wrong, but that was my best answer, LOL. You ladies let me know that if I can’t justifiably call this a detox tea, then what do I call it? I believe I’m spot on, so read on!
Detox
There are many beneficial aspects that come with detoxification. When it comes to cleansing your body, the liver works on overdrive to remove the toxins collecting in the blood, which CAN be a result of poor lifestyle choices when it comes to what we ingest or from other medical conditions as well.
The build up of these toxins or impurities in the blood can be detrimental to our overall health. Why? Because the body’s natural method of eliminating toxins through the liver, kidney, lungs, and skin is affected by the excess of unwanted impurities in our systems.
A healthy detox tea is one of the best-known ways to aid in the body’s cleansing process which in turn can protect your body from diseases.
For a detox tea to have the desired results in our immune systems, it must bring about:
* Improved blood circulation
* Aiding the liver in removing toxins from the body
* Restoration of the body’s intake of essential nutrients
Why I Created This Tea
I’m a huge coffee lover, however after I gave birth to my 2.5 year old twins, I had gotten Bell’s Palsy. This was back in 2014! I’ve been working since then to heal the Bell’s and keep it from coming back.
I noticed that when I drank too much coffee, wine, or experienced a lack of sleep, it affected my face and I would show signs of Bell’s Palsy again. Therefore, I needed something delicious and comforting in the morning.
Because of my puffy eye and lower back pain due to inflammation, Turmeric was my go-to source. Just a tad of honey, is great for the body AND tastes so yummy that I add it as my sweetener. AND well, coconut oil has even more perks, as you’ll read below.
The concoction I created turned out to be delicious! SOMETIMES, I add a dash of organic cinnamon as well.., Ugh, so good!
Essentials of a “my” Detox Tea
I have created a morning tea that includes three natural products that have amazing health benefits!
Keep reading to learn what’s in “my” detox tea:
HONEY: Let me tell ya first honey, (wink) this golden syrup acts as a natural sweetener for the perfect cup of tea.
It is also an antibacterial and antifungal and reduces the prevalence of throat infections and coughs. In addition, it helps gastrointestinal disorders such as ulcers and it contains antioxidants that reduce the likelihood of diseases such as cancer and heart disease.
It’s also known to heal wounds and aid in weight-loss, which we all love to hear too!
Here are just a few ways I add honey into my diet: (I purchase at the story OR online, click here if you shop via Amazon)
*In tea, the obvious
*In yogurt. I always purchase GREEK FAGE, plain. I NEVER buy pre-flavored yogurt because there is so much added sugar in those.
*Adding honey and organic cinnamon into my oatmeal is delicious!
*On pancakes–now I use Kodiak Cakes and sometimes a LITTLE honey in place of syrup OR I use 100% pure maple syrup.
2.COCONUT OIL: Known for its natural saturated fats that are easier to digest, coconut oil is great for the metabolism. Therefore, it improves the body’s energy, which is important when it comes to weight loss and getting shit done, right?
We NEED energy to thrive as mothers, bosses/employees, and wives, etc. Coconut oil is known to prevent kidney infections and kidney stones; it protects the liver from damage, as a natural antioxidant; and it reduces inflammation.
This type of oil contains lauric acid which boosts the immune system and improves skin conditions, such as eczema and dermatitis.
It also aids in healing burns.
As an antibacterial, coconut oil is known to prevent gum disease and tooth decay. Coconut oil is also known to balance the insulin levels in the blood, which is a great support for type 2 diabetes.

Just like Vita’s tagline…. Eat it, Wear it, Swear by it.
*I wear it, face and body.
*I add it to my coffee (on weekends) and tea.
*I cook with it.
3.TURMERIC: This traditional Asian root possesses amazing qualities. Not only is it used as a spice in cooking but it also has healing properties.
This spice is believed to be nature’s strongest anti-inflammatory. For example, when used in detox tea, it helps in the reduction of free radicals on our skin, so it‘s also great for wrinkles.
Turmeric may lower the risk of some cancers in their beginning stages; it strengthens the immune system; it is a natural pain reliever for chronic muscle strains and injuries; it is known to boost mood in people who suffer from depression as it helps the release of one of the feel-good hormone in our brains (serotonin); and it also helps maintain healthy brain function and keeps the memory sharp.
Turmeric allows the blood to flow freely, hence reducing the risk of heart diseases like blood clots and heart attacks.

*I sprinkle it in my coffee (on weekends), tea, hot cocoa, and anything else I can think of.
A healthy combination of the above super ingredients is found in my special blend of detox tea–a ‘tea’ without a teabag. It is sure to deliver on its promises of revving up your entire system and getting your body working at its optimum level.
Give it a try and get energized!
RECIPE:
Listen up.. add the ingredients little by little because you can add to your liking. I use a small teaspoon of coconut oil, about 4 dashes of turmeric and 1-2 drops of the honey.

Identity Magazine is all about guiding women to discover their powers of Self-Acceptance, Appreciation, and Personal Achievement. We ask that every contributor and expert answer the Identity 5 questions in keeping with our theme. In that way, and as a team, we hope to encourage and motivate each other, thus inspiring you to Get All A’s.
1. What have you accepted within your life, physically and/or mentally? Additionally, what are you still working on accepting? Now, we’re talking about resignation, rather stepping into, embraced, and owned.
I have learned to accept my “issues” as I experience live and age. Nobody wants to have Bell’s Palsy, especially at age 36. I now focus on how to best take care of it and ME to that It doesn’t get worse.
2. What have you learned to appreciate about yourself and/or within your life, physically and mentally? On the other hand OR in contrast, are there elements of who you are that you’re still working on appreciating?
I appreciate the daily challenges the Universe/God/Higher Power throws my way.
3. What is one of your most rewarding achievements in life? Tell us not only what makes YOU most proud but also share the goals and dreams that you still have.
I’m proud to have accomplished my #1 BestSeller, Get All A’s in the Game of Life: Insights Along the Way. My children kept me motivated to finish it.
4. Of course, we all have imperfections, or so we think. In truth, we are all perfectly imperfect. What are your not-so-perfect ways? Likewise, what imperfections and quirks create who you are–your Identity?
I’m wayyyyy to hard on myself as a mother, I’m so sure you can agree. Many of us are extremely hard on ourselves. However, I do believe I am one kick ass Mom, and giving it my all!
5. “I Love My…” is an outlet for you to appreciate and express all the positive traits that make you…well…YOU! In fact, sharing what you love about yourself will make you smile, feel empowered, and uplift your spirit and soul. (We assure you!) Therefore, Identity challenges you to complete the phrase “I Love My…?”
