Of course, there are the new fan favorites, Instagram and Snapchat. Instagram is all about storytelling and creating a visual experience for your customers, now if your SMB is in an industry where this is essential you can definitely include it in your strategy.

However, if you lack the visual aspect of your business having an Instagram account can be just time consuming and have little to no effect on your user acquisition.

Next is creating worthy content

The content that you produce and place on social media is what is supposed to attract new customers and keep people interested in your company and your brand. So when creating a social media strategy you need to think at least three steps ahead and create sufficient amount of content as to avoid having slow days.

First you should decide how often do you want to post on social media and at what times, so based on that you can access the amount of content that you need to produce. Keep in mind that even if you plan out your strategy and have sufficient amount of content prepared, it is still important to follow trending topics.

And if necessary you can replace some of your scheduled posts with something currently relevant and trending for your industry, that way your customers will know that you are staying on top of the latest events in your field of expertise.

Get feedback

It is important to hear back from your customers and your target demographic if the content that you have promoted has been effective. So make sure you get feedback from different sources. You can hire a company to run some surveys regarding the effectiveness of your campaigns.

There are a lot of opportunities for people to get paid to take surveys so the companies that provide this type of service don’t lack the relevant demographics to provide you with the necessary data to help you improve on your social media strategy. You can also track metrics on social media and make decisions regarding your strategy based on that as well.

It is important to constantly track and adjust your social media strategy based on industry trends and customer demands. That is the only way for it to truly succeed in getting your SMB the exposure and customers it needs.

Don’t forget to invest in social media ads

Of course, this doesn’t mean you should go overboard and boost literally every post or run your ads indefinitely. The key is deciding what is important enough that you want a much wider audience to see, and if there is a promotion or a sale you are willing to start that should be widely advertised.

So in those situations, when what you have to say can really attract more users or peak their interest that is when you should invest in social media adds so as to maximize your SMB exposure on all platforms.

Definitely building my career and raising my kids.
