I Brought Fear Along

Now, that I have decompressed from the weekend, the words finally came to me. As I stood in front of 200+ educators on Saturday, my life flashed through my entire journey.

It was like a movie in my head, but yet I was delivering a speech to an audience that changed my life as a young girl.

If those teachers didn’t make the decision to place me in at the time “Special Education”–would I have graduated? Would I have been held back? Would I have the friends I have today? Would I have gone to college?
I don’t know.

What I do know–I’m proud of being part of the journey where some students learn in a different way and the education systems adjusted as needed with the resources and tools they had at the time.

I’ve been speaking for about 9 years now and it never gets old or easier.
I can never sleep the night before. It always feels like I’m meditating and half awake going through my intentions for the audience.

It’s surreal and I still can’t believe this is my life.

A life I CHOSE and choose every single day to do the work, show up and play an active role in my life for the goals I want.

I bring the fear with me
I bring judgment with me
I bring insecurity with me
I bring ALL the emotions and thoughts with me… BECAUSE that is how you break through to the next level.

If we ignore those fears and emotions, we’ll never grow out of them or improve our control/relationship with them.

Looking back on my journey and my first BIG FEAR– it was when I had to make a decision on whether I wanted to continue creating Identity Magazine alone back in 2008/2009.

I cried for a few days with fear and worry I wasn’t “smart” enough.
But I literally said, “F-it, you LOVE this work and it’s giving you so much passion and joy”. I was in my room and made the decision and kept showing up.

I am so, so, so glad I did.

My next BIG fear was my very first workshop in Maine back in 2011–where 3 women showed up. I had all sorts of emotions, mainly embarrassed because there was only 3 and worried these women wouldn’t experience the work I had to share.

But they did. Because the Universe brought us together for a reason and it was a success.

SOO many fears and unknowns over the years.

Two years ago, the big fear of judgment showed up as I wanted to leverage the Beachbody brand and business with my already coaching and speaking biz–after giving it a month to test and learn all about–I got results, I saw so many results in others and I believe it in.

Game-changer, but I feared I’d be judged. Well now, I’ve been able to help an extra 200+ people since then and my business model added another 12k+ of income.

The latest FEAR…..this weekend as I mentioned above. I was so nervous to present to educators, would they like my personable style of speaking?

Would they like my energy and authenticity in how we all need to show up and accept responsibility?

Well, I thrived through it.

We thrive through our fears.
We all have them.
Don’t let yours stop you!
Don’t let your emotions hold you back.
Don’t let others hold you back.

You can accept the responsibility to LIVE YOUR LIFE how you want and FEEL how you want, ANYTIME.

It may take a minute or two, but you don’t stop….

Yesterday, I shared with Rob the amazing energy and rush I get delivering and sharing my energy and insight on self-acceptance, appreciation, and achievement. I thank you world. I thank you, teachers. I thank you, Mom, for being the rock in our family.

I thank you DKG- NJ for the experience to give back, say thank you and empower your organization.

To all of my teacher friends – This is an international society that you can be part of.

Identity Magazine is all about guiding women to discover their powers  of Self-Acceptance,  Appreciation, and Personal  Achievement.

We ask that every contributor and expert answer  the Identity questions in keeping with our theme. Their answers can be random and in the moment or they can be aligned with the  current article they have written.  In that way, and as a team, we hope to  encourage  and motivate  each other, thus inspiring  you to Get All A’s.

1. What have you accepted within your life, physically and/or mentally?  Additionally, what are you  still working on accepting? Now, we’re not talking about resignation, rather stepping into, embraced, and owned.

I’ve accepted that fear and judgment will always show up. I now bring then along and allow myself to be uncomfortable so that I can continue to break through and grow.

2. Appreciation is everything. What have you learned to appreciate about yourself and/or within your life, physically and mentally?  On the other hand  OR in contrast,  are there elements of who you are that you’re still working on  appreciating?

Gosh, I’m so appreciative of LIFE. I used to not want to live and want to drive off bridges, but not anymore. Thank GOD. I have such beautiful life filled with love, adventure, opportunities, friends and family.

3. Share with us one of your most rewarding achievements in life? Tell us  not only  what makes YOU most proud  but also  share the  goals and dreams that you still have.
