I am persistent—and I continue to progress and achieve through all circumstances…

This was my “I Am” card I pulled yesterday. And it couldn’t have been more accurate as I had all sorts of circumstances TRYING to get it my way. My kids, the twins were all sorts of cranky and running late, and the hubs and I overslept— but we just got delayed a bit.
There’s a thought process that gets me through moments of chaos, uncertainty, loneliness, fear, or any obstacle really. My “Get All A’s” formula always brings me back to my center and reflect on:
- At this moment, what can I accept/be aware of/embrace/own?
- What can I appreciate? Where is the lesson? ( for me it’s usually always patience )
- How can I move forward and achieve from here?
Accept. Appreciate. Achieve. That’s my secret weapon. Every time I DO achieve, I discover my patterns of emotions and actions that have helped me. The discovery…Appreciation for EVERY thing that comes my way because it makes me stronger. Without appreciation, you won’t grow and achieve and you can’t have an appreciation for things, life, and people unless you are accepting of them/it. Make sense?
For me, of course, it’s easy to accept the good, appreciate the good, but the work comes in finding the acceptance in the difficult and sometimes ugly moments that the Big Ole Universerse throws us.
Guess what? Maybe you haven’t taken any of my workshops, attended my retreats or participated in my Get All A’s masterclass, YET— I’ve still got GREAT news for you.
In fact, I have stunning science-backed facts that will help you achieve more frequently throughout your journey.
Are you ready?
I discovered these from one of my mentors and to be frank a little embarrassed I didn’t know these exact numbers because they are EVERYTHING.
When you read these facts below and if you’re not sold on your next steps, then we’ve got deeper issues to discuss and I’m here for you if you need it.
So let’s dive in!
FACT #1
Doctor Gayle Mathews, Professor of Psychology at the Dominican University of California, states that we are 42% more likely to ACHIEVE if we write down our goals. Pretty basic right? In my experience both personally and working with thousands of women, most of us don’t do this.
How often do you write down what you want, and how often do you repeat writing it down so it stays present within your mind and keeping you excited?
Unfortunately, about 20% of my students fail to stick with one very basic exercise that is PROVEN to improve happiness, (take my course and see if you are different, wink-wink) We see, learn or hear about a basic tool or practice and we usually take it for granted.
For example, those who workout and think that starting with the basic modified positions won’t get the results as if they go all-in and push as hard as they can, only to get burnt out, discouraged or injured.
You’ve got to implement the basic moves for the foundation. You have to practice the small steps and moves to build the strength and support the underlying muscles. You must accept and embrace that basic process to get to the next level.
BASIC BEATS BURNOUT
When you don’t write what you want in life down, you lose track, you lose focus and you spin your wheels over and over resulting in burnout because you have no direction and focus. Writing it down increases your chances by 42%! NO-BRAINER my friend, I’ll take those odds every. single. day.
All you have to do is show up 1% more every day. Do better, be better, and show up at least 1% better in every way, each day. Simply writing your goals daily, is a PERFECT starting point for that. Right?
FACT #2
Schedule: If it’s not scheduled, it’s not important enough and that usually means you skip, or make more excuses. Science shows that you can DOUBLE, I’ll say that again, DOUBLE your chances of achieving when you have it scheduled. Holy cannoli as I say to my twins often, again give me those odds every day.
According to eMarketer, the average adult spends over 3 hours a day on their phones. And yes, I’m GUILTY of that. However, I use my phone to schedule everything, set up alerts and reminders, and pretty much run 60% of my business on my phone. So there’s no excuse that you don’t have access or time to schedule shit in and double down!
FACT #3
Accountability: The American of Science & Training Development (ASTD) states that you have a 65% chance an achieving if you commit to someone. I’m even gonna share the bonus fact with ya…If you have scheduled and specific accountability with another person, it could increase your chance of success to achieve by up to 95% — HELLO???
Again, NO-BRAINER my friends. The science doesn’t lie and I know we all have our own journey’s to live and you’ll be ready on your own time. But if I could shake you into really understanding how crucial it was for me to have coaches. My success came because of that scheduled accountability—I would shake you all damn day. LOL. I’d hug you too. ( WINK )
So with these facts, you should ALWAYS have a plan B as well. Be prepared for chaos, distractions and know you’ll have to be adaptable. My clients who have to miss a meeting, will reschedule ASAP and meet within the next few days.
If you miss the gym at your normal time, have a backup plan. Maybe do an at-home workout, or situps and push-ups before bed. If you eat bad all day at work, plan to have healthy salads, or shakes at home and in place if you need to keep it light on carbs and grease that night.
BACK UP YOUR PLANS
So let’s recap. Get accountability, and schedule: Why, who, what, when, how, and where. All of this is important, especially the basic steps my friend.
Why is XYX your goal?
Write it all down, daily
Show up 1% more each day
Schedule
Get help
Show up
BOOM. Achieve—Get All A’s.
