How Working Moms Can Keep it Together

How Working Moms Can Keep it Together
I’ve experienced imposter syndrome and so has pretty much every Mompreneur going after what she wants.

Mom life alone can be so exhausting sometimes, I feel like my brain is going to literally pop out of my head.

I’ve been receiving so many messages about keeping it together. My friend, MomLife+BizLife is no joke.

#MomLife alone can be so exhausting sometimes, I feel like my brain is going to literally pop out of my head. 🤯🤯

And, I bet most of you mamas are experiencing the same—as our kids are adjusting to the new way of school.

What I know that works for me is letting it out if I have to.

Cry for a hot second
Snap for a hot second
Dance it out for a hot second
Meditate for a hot second

I had one of the moments the other day. While I was on the phone with my friend as we exchanged our days and I thought Rob was taking the twins to soccer so I could write more and he comes down and is heading out the door. 😡

I snapped, and said. “I’m starting to feel overwhelmed and I need help.” I sighed and he was in a rush to leave—so left. (side note – he did call to apologize and reassured me all will be ok)

So while I’m on the phone with my friend we laugh at what just happened. I vented, and wanted to skip taking my kids to soccer tonight because I was feeling annoyed and honestly didn’t want to have to tie their cleats 🤣🤣🤣

However…

Here’s what I did and here’s what works every time I catch my inner drama building up—overwhelm, stress, guilt, pressure etc.
⚡️I stop.
⚡️I accept and embrace the moment to dig deeper and release and adjust
⚡️I took the kids outside to ride 🚲 for 10 minutes and so I could reset for 10 mins.

I then reminded my inner excuse that we will not skip ⚽️ This is their time to be kids and I get to have fresh air for an hour. Win-win (and they’ll go to bed easier, more winning.

I said , “breathe Susan, suck it up butter-cup-you got this.” I’m not a doctor, nobody is hurt, my kids are laughing, I had a great day with so many women, I woke up early again, I cleaned the kitchen, I taught my kids for 4 hours!

I’m rewarded myself with a long hot shower and went to bed at 8:30pm!

“I have been blown away by the transformation from Susan’s 90-Day Mindset + Achieve Coaching program. While I have done coaching before, I never had someone as invested in me as Susan. She has really taught me to question my mindset, and ask myself why sometimes I don’t go all in. The weekly team meetings are so supportive and helpful. This is a MUST DO program. Do not wait – because all you are doing is holding off on being your best!”

Identity Magazine is all about guiding women to discover their powers of Self-Acceptance, Appreciation, and Personal Achievement.

We ask that every contributor and expert answer the Identity questions in keeping with our theme. Their answers can be random and in the moment or they can be aligned with the current article they have written.

In that way, and as a team, we hope to encourage and motivate each other, thus inspiring you to Get All A’s.

1. What have you accepted within your life, physically and/or mentally? Additionally, what are you still working on accepting? Now, we’re not talking about resignation, rather stepping into, embraced, and owned.

I’ve accepted that I’m 100% in charge of how my life is now—because of every single past decision. I used to blame others and love how far I’ve come in owning my awareness, taking control to do and be better each day.

I’m still working on discovering all of my triggers. And which ones to accept and embrace and which ones to replace.

2. Appreciation is everything. What have you learned to appreciate about yourself and/or within your life, physically and mentally? On the other hand OR in contrast, are there elements of who you are that you’re still working on appreciating?

I appreciate LIFE. I appreciate my work and those who choose to read and learn from me. I appreciate being able to keep my kids home for cyber school.

3. Share with us one of your most rewarding achievements in life? Tell us not only what makes YOU most proud but also share the goals and dreams that you still have.

I’m proud of developing a passion to read. I read for a purpose and that feels really rewarding to me.
