If you’re human and like many you’ve experienced hesitation and probably have said these phrases when it comes to getting started on a fitness routine or getting active in your life, “I’ll start after the holiday, I’ll start tomorrow, I’ll start next week, I’m just going to start next year because this year was a sh*t show.”.
Can you relate?
It seems to be so simple to throw our personal self-care goals out the door and I’m on a mission to help more and more women to shift that.
What if you could be as committed to your lifelong overall health as you are committed to waking up and taking care of your children, home, partner, or career?
As a certified mindset, nutrition and fitness coach and over 13 years of helping women create consistency in order to achieve their thriving life, I’ve mastered a process to ignite the foundation one must have for long term success.
You have to learn how to navigate the 50,000 plus thoughts you have daily—most of them being unsupportive thoughts. You have to be connected to your why, and ask yourself some honest questions like “How committed are you to achieving your goals, especially when all the obstacles and unwanted circumstances come your way?
So how committed are you to creating the life you LOVE, which makes it exciting, embracing, and sustainable without depriving yourself?
One of the biggest mindset blocks I love to challenge my community with is starting something new or a new fitness program at ANY given moment. And I’m a huge believer in discovering your own balance and focusing on overcoming your own obstacles in areas including:
Health:
Mindset
Nutrition
Fitness
Relationships:
Communication
Friendships
Love
Career:
Passion
Goals
Success
Now, I know life isn’t always a perfect balance, but I embrace the eb and flow of these areas in my life. I aim for my own consistency which looks a bit like this:
- I work out 5-6 days a week and have a few non-negotiables in place because moving my body has had a huge impact on my sanity as a Mompreneur. It’s my self-care to release all the overwhelming unsupportive energy and soak in all the good motivation, and physical challenges from the variety of workouts I do.
- It’s been over 6 years since I took more responsibility for my nutrition and even became certified in a few programs to really understand how simple and sustainable healthy eating can be.
- I schedule time monthly to spend with friends and family.
- I love hard, go all-in for my passions with MomLife + BizLIfe, and have been achieving all of the goals I set for myself. I’m playing my game of life and embracing every move I take.
In this article, I want to share a few ideas on How to Overcome Your Hesitation to Start Your Fitness Journey because I find that most people want to be active and consistent. According to Statista, the fitness and health industry is about 96 billion, so it’s safe to say, you’re not alone in wanting to uplevel your health game.
In order to overcome your excuses and stories, as I mentioned above it takes courage to have honest conversations with yourself. It takes work with your mindset so that you can learn how to achieve over and over.
Your Mindset is your foundation to “having it all”.
Our brain often wants everything to be in order before we start working on ourselves, especially fitness. We have to have all the workout gear and props, or it has to be the right time or day when there isn’t a birthday or anniversary to celebrate.
It’s exhausting because LIFE is LIFE.
This life stuff is consistent with showing up in our lives, right? Therefore, it’s now your time to finally choose to be consistent in saying thank you, not today, or thank you, I will have some cake, or meet that group for hike.
What if you could have no more drama on these types of decisions?
For example, if you want to get started with your exercise routine, you just start and you know how to navigate the “I’ll wait until Monday or after the holiday” and start that day! Just start, TO.DAY. I know, you already have so much going on in your mind right now like what will I wear, what workout will I do, or I’m not ready.”, right?
You are ready and have everything you need.
You don’t even have to be in workout clothes to do 3 sets of push-ups. So, get down and do 3 sets now. No, seriously. I challenge you because that’s the shift over the hesitation happening in your mind right now. Be an action taker.
You have to learn how to manage your current thoughts so your feelings shift and then you take action from the more fun, supporting feelings than the not-so-supporting thoughts and feelings, right? I’ve been teaching this work for years and specialize in mindset + achieve work.
I want to leave you with this challenge and a few steps.
Where are you finding yourself holding back on?
Maybe it’s fitness, maybe it’s implementing better nutrition, starting a business, or any other personal or professional goals.
How will you start TODAY? Feel free to share in the comments!
This is your time and your sign to start now.
- When you have the desire to start something, decide.
- Accept the challenge
- Don’t accept the hesitation
- Appreciate the challenge and opportunity to overcome your hesitation
- Embrace being uncomfortable and imperfect
- Have fun achieving and play #youragame
You are the only one that can allow hesitation to win, will you?
As a bonus and speaking of fitness, I created a hybrid-infused calendar with LIIFT4 and 9-Week Control Freak (9WCF). I’ve been using Beachbody for years, it saved me during the times of raising my twin toddlers.
Many of my Mindset + Achievers are also using these programs to stay active in their lives. If you’d like to learn more about how I can support your MomLife + BizLife journey, fill out this form.
