Oanh’s 3 Tips to Accept and Love Yourself
#1. I believe that the foundation of self-love and acceptance is knowing that your very existence is a miracle, that you have a purpose here on Earth, that you have birthrights & responsibilities, and that you are inherently Divine.
Having said all that, my first tip is for you to do your own research to find out what the odds are for you to be born. There has been researching done on this matter & I trust that once you realize what it took over generations upon generations for your birth, for you to be born in the perfect time and space is nothing short of miraculous. Then ask yourself, like the miracle that you are, how can you love yourself more? How can you be more gracious in accepting yourself? Write it all down, then hold yourself accountable to take inspired actions on what you wrote down. If you feel ever so inclined, do this with a friend and hold each other accountable.
#2. Embark on a journey of self-awareness, really dig deep to understand the core of who you are in every aspect.
The more you get to know yourself, the more you will realize what brings you joy, what interests you, and what your skills & talents are. It’s important to be kind to yourself during this ongoing process but setting the intention that you want to rediscover what you’re passionate about is important. When you align yourself with what sets your heart on fire and supports you in feeling good, you will allow inspiration to flow. From this space of inspiration, find out what you’re innately good at and do more of it.
This will help you build up your confidence and the more you work on bettering yourself, naturally, you will begin to love yourself more and not only accept yourself but you will embrace all that you are.
#3. MOVE! MOVE! MOVE!
Get out there and be active. It doesn’t matter so much what you do, what matters is that you do something you enjoy consistently, to the point that it becomes your lifestyle. It can be as simple as going on walks in the morning to start your day, going for weekly hikes, taking dance or kickboxing lessons, and trying something new.
The options are limitless so find what you enjoy doing and do more of it, as often as possible. Being active has so many health benefits and the more active you are the more you will love, accept and appreciate the amazing body that you have. It’s so easy to take our bodies for granted but when was the last time you took a moment to admire what our bodies are capable of?
We have the ability to heal from injuries, we can experience 5 senses (I believe 6 senses but for mainstream media, I kept with 5 LOL), we can procreate and the list goes on and on. This means you have endless reasons as to why you should love, accept, appreciate and admire yourself.

1. What have you accepted within your life, physically and/or mentally? Additionally, what are you still working on accepting? Now, we’re not talking about resignation, but rather stepping into, embracing, and owning.
I believe acceptance is a winding road and an ongoing practice because it will take practice before it gets easier. Physically, I’ve fully accepted, embraced, and fallen in love with my physical features that I once despised because these features made me different from others around me. As I matured and relearned to love myself unconditionally, I realized that what separated me from others is a blessing.
For example, I used to really dislike my calves because I thought they were too big but when I started training boxing & Muay Thai, having strong calves are beneficial. I also wasn’t a fan of my lips, I thought they were too big and used to smile in a way that would make them look smaller, but having full lips is desirable. Currently, what I’m consciously working on daily to accept, is self-forgiveness, although I know I’m not to be blamed, sorrow has a way of taking over all rational thinking, so I do my best to be compassionate towards myself.
2. Appreciation is everything. What have you learned to appreciate about yourself and/or within your life, physically and mentally? On the other hand OR in contrast, are there elements of who you are that you’re still working on appreciating?
What I really appreciate about myself is my resilience and ability to transmute negative energy into a powerful force that I can harness to work for me. I also appreciate the fact that even after having experienced some cruelty in this world, I am still so deeply in love with humanity and that I was able to protect a purity in my heart.
