More Action, Less Content: How To Move Your Business Forward

Why More Content Isn’t the Answer

Have you ever scrolled through Instagram, telling yourself you’re doing “market research,” only to emerge two hours later with nothing but a collection of screenshots and many “saved posts” you’ll never revisit?

Yeah, we’ve all been there. In today’s world, it feels like there’s always one more podcast, blog post, or online course we need to consume before we’re “ready” to take action.

For us moms who are juggling a business, a family, and, let’s be real, trying not to trip over Legos in the process—it can be overwhelming. I’m right there with you! Not only am I growing my business and raising kids, but I’m also juggling getting our house listed to sell so we can start building our dream home. It’s a lot! But here’s the thing: action will always beat content consumption. You don’t need another webinar to succeed; you need to start doing the thing.

Why We’re Stuck Consuming Instead of Doing

So why do we get stuck in this never-ending loop of content consumption? It’s not just you—it’s how we’re wired. We feel like we need to know everything before we take the next step. It’s a little like needing to find the perfect dinner recipe, except by the time you decide, the kids have already filled up on snacks (again, the goldfish strikes!).

For moms especially, this feeling of needing to have it all figured out before acting can be paralyzing. We want to be great at everything—parenting, running a business, getting the house ready to sell (trust me, I’m right there with you on that one). But the reality is, we’ll never be “perfectly ready,” and that’s okay. Action happens when we embrace the mess and move forward anyway.

The Real Cost of Not Taking Action

Let’s talk about what happens when we stay stuck in the content consumption loop. The truth is, all that information doesn’t do you any good if you’re not using it. It’s like having a recipe for the best cake ever and just staring at it, wondering if you have the right flour.

Meanwhile, your business is waiting, your dreams are on hold, and time is slipping away—just like the silence that exists right before your kids ask for a snack again!

On average, Americans spend 7+ hours a day consuming digital media, but how much of that time is spent doing something that actually moves the needle in your business?

Not taking action can mean missed opportunities, slower growth, and a pile of regrets that doesn’t feel any better than the toys scattered across your living room floor. For moms juggling family and business, this inaction can be costly. The time we spend consuming content could be used to make small but meaningful steps forward—whether that’s launching a new offer, connecting with clients, or even getting that For Sale sign in the yard.

How Taking Action Changed My Business

If you’ve ever been stuck in that “I’ll do it when I’m ready” mindset, let me tell you—I’ve been there too. But what has truly driven my business forward is taking action, even when it didn’t feel perfect. Here are a few examples:

  • I sold advertising in my book before the book was even written. Yep, I was still writing chapters, and the ads were already sold. It wasn’t about waiting until everything was done; it was about taking that bold first step and figuring out the rest along the way.
  • I created and sold a digital course with just a title and outline. Did I have all the modules ready? Nope. But guess what? It sold. The outline was enough to move the needle, and I completed the course content as I went.
  • Without any formal training or “learning how to speak,” I started booking speaking gigs that turned into six-figure revenue streams. I didn’t wait for some certification to tell me I was ready—I just got on stage and started talking!

Every one of these stories proves that imperfect action beats perfect inaction. And as a mom, this kind of flexibility is key. We’re already used to juggling, improvising, and sometimes throwing plans out the window entirely—so why not apply that same energy to your business?

Actionable Takeaways:

  1. Start Before You’re Ready: You don’t need to know everything to start. Whether it’s launching a product, selling a service, or booking a gig—take the first step, even if you’re not 100% prepared.
  2. Sell the Vision, Then Build It: Just like I sold ads for an unfinished book and a course with just an outline, don’t be afraid to pitch your ideas early. You can build and refine as you go.
  3. Perfection Isn’t Necessary—Progress Is: Get out of the mindset that everything needs to be perfect before you act. Start messy, learn from your mistakes, and improve as you go.
  4. Take One Bold Step Each Day: Set small, actionable goals that push you forward. Whether it’s making a sales call, reaching out for a collaboration, or putting your offer out there—just do something each day that moves you forward.

How Coaching Can Help You Shift from Content to Action

This is where I come in. As someone who has built a business while raising kids, managing a home, and, yes, getting our house listed to build our dream home, I know what it’s like to have a lot on your plate. But here’s the thing—more content won’t get you where you want to go.

You need someone who can motivate you to take action, hold you accountable, and guide you in making bold decisions.

I’m not the coach who’s going to hand you a bunch of PDFs to read. I’m the coach who will help you do the work—whether that’s launching your offer, building your brand, or finally scaling to six figures and beyond.

Together, we’ll take those ideas you’ve been sitting on and turn them into real, tangible results.

So if you’re ready to stop overthinking and start doing, let’s work together. Whether it’s helping you get that digital course out into the world or simply taking that first small step, I’m here to help you get sh*t done.

The Real Secret to Success

At the end of the day, the only thing standing between you and the results you want is action. You already have enough knowledge, and you’re more than capable of making it happen. So what are you waiting for? Let’s get moving! Get started by enrolling in Mindset + Achieve™ today!
